Slim Life Tea - Does It Work?

Hey guys! As you can see, today I'm back and bringing you something slightly different than usual yet, rest assured, equally as interesting.

Recently, I've been focussing a whole lot more on healthy consumption, taking care of myself and how I can enhance my body from the inside as well as the outside which, before hand, I wasn't taking as seriously as needs be. Although makeup and skincare are and will always be the primary topics discussed on this blog, today, I thought I'd share with you my personal take on weight loss tea (a fairly disputed and controversial product), specifically that of the brand Slim Life Tea, who kindly popped me some of their famous weight loss tea in the post to try out a little while ago.

Slim Life Tea and it's staff members aim to "make a difference in our lives" by providing us with a drink that will aid us in living with a "healthy spirit, body and mind" (quoted directly from the website), a concept that I was raring to explore - as a student, to put it lightly, I'm not always in the best mood or in the best of headspaces. Therefore, the idea of achieving both physical AND mental results was pretty attractive - I couldn't wait to begin! This product also claims to provide the following benefits:

  •  Enhanced weight loss
  •  Boosted metabolism
  •  Suppressed appetite
  •  Non-laxative
  •  Improved skin condition
  •  Increased mental alertness
  •  Strengthened immune system

  • Before starting, of course, I made sure I knew exactly what I was putting into my body and, based on the fact that ALL this consists of is hand-picked, single origin Red Oolong tea, my confidence in the lack of hidden nasties within the tea was immediate. The individual morcels of Oolong tea themselves, to me, look a lot like black, aged snowdrop petals (fairly cutesy if you ask my professional opinion) and cascade towards the bottom of the mug once you've added the hot water. This means that if you don't have a strainer, not to worry, as you won't be stumbling across any bits and pieces in your mouth whilst attempting to enjoy your tea. And, when I say enjoy, I mean enjoy - taste wise, the smooth and almost floral/fragrant notes (there I go again, thinking I'm some sort of tea sommelier) are really pleasant on the palette. For those of you that haven't tried anything like this before and tend to stick to the trusty English Breakfast kind, the flavours here are very different and may take some getting used to but, as with a majority of things in life, you'll begin to appreciate them more with time.

Now for the main focus, the part that you've all been waiting for, does it really live up to its claims? *Insert Drumroll*... absolutely. So far, I am exactly 22 days into my Slim Life Tea journey on the 28 day  program and have lost a whopping 7 POUNDS, which is a real achievement for someone such as myself, who's weight tends to stagnate and remain around the same figure for extended periods of time. For the duration of the detox, as per the recommended, I've been trying to drink 3 cups per day (admittedly, sometimes it was only two because somebody has a rather clouded memory – the shame) and have definitely noticed a huge difference in the amount of bloating I experience first thing in the morning and after meal times – as I'm writing this, my stomach feels much less heavy than what I'd usually expect after a large lunch. The other two elements of change that this tea provoked in me are both GAMECHANGERS and concern long term habits – the suppression of appetite and the increase in energy level. In my quest for a healthier body, snacking on crisps, sweets and nibbles in between meals is probably the biggest cause of my failure, however, that urge, although still present, only ever appears in the background of my mind and has become something I’m able to withstand, which I’m exceedingly happy about. As for the energy side of things, since the beginning of the program, especially straight after drinking the tea, I find it a lot easier to seize motivation out of thin air to go and perform tasks that, before, I would put off for AGES, such as taking my dogs on their daily walk – nowadays, I just go and reap the benefits of the exercise itself.

In conclusion, I can fully say that I stand by Slim Life Tea and everything they do – the amount of weight loss enhancement a cup of tea can provide still currently baffles me. Naturally, results do vary from person to person, however, accompanied by a consistently healthy diet and regular exercise (no, unfortunately, eating Hawaiian pizza every meal whilst on the program won’t provide you with the outcome you desire... resist the temptation, you can do it!), I think everyone has the potential to make  a real success of their journey – there are are plenty of before and after photos from verified customers (click here) that love Slim Life Tea just as much as I do. You can pick up the 28 day supply (2 x a beautiful, black cylindrical tin of loose Oolong tea*) directly from the website and, remember: all it takes is consistency to see results!

    1. I love all the benefits and I am so happy for you to have achieved your goals. I love slim teas, I should try this one I never tried it. Yes, you are right so important to resist temptations, for 2 weeks I ate sweets everyday from cake to icecream to chocolate, the result was that I put on weight Now I have to be careful, so I cut all these treats for a while. I think having a cheat day sometimes is good, I will stick to that once I get back to normal. Thanks for the review babe Love it xoxo Cris

      1. Thank you so much for reading so promptly Cris, I literally LOVE you! I totally recommend this particular tea - I love the floral taste and, of course, the energy it provides me with to go on with my day! I think you're spot on, I'm currently on a bit of a cut down but I've just had a chocolate treat - if you cut it all out at once, you're bound to binge and fail so cheat days are very important!

    6. I've not heard of this brand by now but I think it's fantastic that you've had good results from it. It's always best to think about what you're putting into your body, like you're doing, but a natural tea like this one can really help to balance your body and I'm glad you've enjoyed your experience with it!

    9. So if it just Oolong tea, where does the slimming come from? Or would drinking three cups of Oolong in general prvide these benefits?

      1. Hey there Anne! Yes, Oolong tea in general provides the benefits that I discussed, 100%! Oolong tea has been known, for a while now, to accelerate metabolism, improve fat mobilization, prevent fat cell proliferation and help to maintain weight loss! It's just a semi-oxidised Chinese tea with a lot of positives! x

    10. I never tried slim tea but I guess that drinking any tea will help you loose weight.. it helps you stay hydrated and pee more... personally I prefer just plain old green tea to help me in my diets. it helps with my metabolism and it's cheaper that any of these fancy **instagram** teas!

      1. Not going to lie, I LOVE green tea as well - it's so good! However, with this one, it really does boost the old metabolism, which I could really feel with my energy levels. I can see where you're coming from though when you say Instagram teas - some of them claim to do a lot more than they do but, I can assure you, this one has been a winner for me. Of course, I'll come and follow you now!

    13. I love drinking normal tea. I have also added some green tea, chamomile tea in my routine, but I have never tried a slimming tea. Glad you like it and it helped you loose weight. You are absolutely right that eating a Hawaiian pizza won't help in slimming down of course haha! :-) Loved reading your review.

I love a good cup of Yorkshire gold but, of course, like you, I've been incorporating others (I LOVE green tea too, chamomile makes me too sleepy haha!) including this one which I'm feeling good about! And haha, Hawaiian pizza is my ultimate favourite but we've got to exercise self control Via! x
