Summer Shadows: The Magnifique Palette by Labelle Makeup

Happy Sunday guys - I hope you're having a wonderful week, especially given the fact that the weather is borderline FANTASTIC (don't you dare forget your SPF though). And, as you guys know, with a new season comes a new wave of makeup trends and colours to play with so, naturally, I've swapped out my spring palettes for this bad boy: the NEW Magnifique Palette by Labelle Makeup.

Now, this is coming to you slightly late (nobody's fault - sometimes things get lost in the post) as the palette launched earlier in May but, you know what they say: better late than never, eh?! Plus, after my Instagram unboxing, I received quite a few responses and questions from you lovely lot so, quite frankly, this isn't a post I could skip out on.

So, unless you're new here (welcome!), you'll already know my feelings about the brand Labelle Makeup - they consistently produce good quality, affordable and inclusive products which, in the past, I've been known to really enjoy. And, of course, being the lucky sod I am, I'm kindly sent a majority of their releases as press samples, the newest being an eyeshadow palette - MAGNIFIQUE.

The packaging itself is elegant, minimalist and, typically of Labelle, gives the consumer an insight as to what they're going to be getting on the inside; in this case, a gorgeous and varied Summer spectrum. The spectrum in question boasts 8 shimmers and 7 mattes (15 shades in total) which, for me, is a great balance as both lovers of an iridescent eye and a classic matte look have enough to work with in order create a full masterpiece (Picasso would have loved this one).

As you can see, we have an interesting mix of warm and cool tones, making this palette a riotous display of reds, pinks, oranges, greens and blues, along with some gorgeous metallics. I am OBSESSED with how diverse the range is, simply because, when left to my own devices, I tend to stick to what I know: browns and neutrals (I know, I'm boring). So, by throwing in some forest greens and ocean blues, I've got a bit of challenge at the same time as comfort - it's so much more convenient to dip into more adventurous shades and just mix and match

That being said, there's no use in having a palette this vivid if the formula turns out to be no good (honestly, it happens more often than you'd think) so, without further ado, let's swatch away until our hearts are content so you guys can get a good idea of how the shades apply, both look and feel wise. As usual, no primer has been used for these in order to let them really speak for themselves and I've included my own personal description of each and every shade.

Gleam: A frosty white shimmer
Foxy: A smouldering orange matte
Twinkle: A dark champagne shimmer
Blush: A watermelon shimmer
Rouge: A red apple matte

Glimmer: A quartz shimmer
24K: A yellow gold shimmer
Crimson: A true crimson matte
Glisten: A copper shimmer with a pinky edge
Raw: A pine green matte

Nude: A creamy sand matte
Regal: A sangria red matte
Azure: A dark teal shimmer
Zest: A lemon tone beige matte
Naive: A basil green shimmer

Now, all I could say when I first got my hands on the palette was WOW. I mean, pigmentation wise, Labelle always knock it out of the bloody park and, visibly, this is another fantastic example of that. Each and every shade packs a punch, even with only one or two swipes, and you guys are going to be THRILLED to know that none of them disappear on the eye when blended.

After speaking with the wonderful Labelle team, as I suspected, I found out that they had changed their formula so, with this palette, you'll notice that the shades are like velvet to the touch (so soft and buttery) and aren't dry enough to create a lot of kick back; fall out onto the palette and the eye is kept at a minimum.

The shades blend really well together (with and without primer) and, most importantly for the likes of myself, doing 12-14 hour days outside of the house, the colour payoff achieved upon first applying doesn't melt away throughout the day, leaving you with practically nothing at the end. Sure, as with a majority of other shadows from any given brand, the level of intensity does gradually decrease but, overall, these hold up excellently for the price.

Speaking of price, this is definitely on the affordable side for an eyeshadow palette - you're getting 15 very good quality pans for just £19.99 which is a bargain, especially considering the fact that I just purchased a palette TODAY from a high end brand (this isn't to bash, it's to compare; said brand will thus remain nameless) with only 6 pans for approximately double the price whilst the quality is no better. So, if you're looking to jazz up your makeup wardrobe and give it a little bit of a revamp for summer, I couldn't recommend the Magnifique palette by Labelle Makeup any more because, for versatility, quality and longevity, it's right up there with the best of the best that I've tried in a long while.

Thank you so much for reading - I know you guys have mentioned to me that you've been missing makeup here (I've been buying and receiving a lot more skincare products lately as I'm attempting to improve the canvas before adding the paint, you see) so it's a MASSIVE breath of fresh air to feature a fantastic new makeup addition and it certainly won't be the last for the coming months.

Are you going to change up your makeup this Summer? If so, would you consider incorporating this beauty?

Let me know in the comment section below and, as always, feel free to voice any other opinions, queries and/or criticisms there too - hearing from you not only makes me smile but also helps me learn and grow. Also, if you want to turn my smile into a complete grin, don't forget to follow my blog on you way out for more juicy content!

Until next time,
Marina Rosie x

    1. Haha, I know exactly what you mean! I LOVE to do an eyeshadow look and keep the skin natural in Summer - it's the foundation and wet products that are likely to slip and slide but drier products will not move. x
