IT REALLY SMELLS LIKE PEACHES??! - Too Faced 'Sweet Peach palette' Review + Swatches!

Okay guys, I know the first question that you'll be asking is, WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN??! And I'm very happy to answer that question because the answer is very simple.

Being a school student, sometimes I find it incredibly hard to clear time within my schedule to indulge in a spot of writing for my blog, and as the work begun piling and piling up, I decided that enough was enough. I NEEDED A BREAK. Except not a huge great big massive break. Well, at least I didn't intend it to be one of those. The easiest way to explain why my 'leave of absence' was so prolonged is by using the metaphor of a nap. We all say it's only going to last 'five minutes' and you end up waking up 4 hours later, not knowing who you are or where you are.

So there it is - however, I am back and better than ever, bringing you my first post of 2017!! *This is where y'all are supposed to get excited*

So, for this post, I decided to review a very hyped up palette that I purchased over the winter period with my Christmas dosh (Thanks Santa) and that palette is the Sweet Peach palette by the darling dudes over at Too Faced Cosmetics. I'd seen this palette literally everywhere and I really wanted to give it a try before it sold out; seeing it on the shelf at Sephora was enough to hypnotise me into spending that 44 euros... Whoops...

SO anyway, here I bring you the Sweet Peach palette, in all it's beauty and splendor!

In order to satisfy all of those packaging obsessives out there, I'm going to begin by saying that, personally, I think the packaging is beautiful. It doesn't feel at all cheap and flimsy, due to its metal structure and magnetic closure, it protects the shadows well, and the colour is a sort of baby pink to rip peach gradient, which I really enjoy. So on the packaging front, this palette is a winner; I'm living for it! My only criticism would be that it could potentially be a tad bit sleeker and more travel friendly; I feel like I may have a hard time travelling with this palette, so it my just have to be one for the house.

When you receive this palette, it also comes with a guide to help you in recreating three looks, which could be helpful to those of you that struggle with coming up with your own looks at the drop of a hat.

Moving on to the main event; the actual shadows! As I did with the Naked 2 by Urban Decay palette review (If you've not read that post, click here to enjoy!) I'm going to go through all the shades and supply an accurate description of them from my point of view, followed by swatches of each shade on my skin and my beautiful sister's skin, which is slightly lighter than mine!

All shadows have been swatched without any eyeshadow primer beneath them so that I can really show the true colour and pigment of each shade:

White Peach: A shivering white matte
Luscious: A golden peach shimmer
Just Peachy: A bright, floral pink opaque shimmer
Bless Her Heart: An olive green shimmer
Tempting: A charcoal opaque matte black with sparse flecks of silver glitter
Charmed, I'm sure: A neutral cocoa brown matte

First row swatches on myself!
First row swatches on my sister!
Nectar: A light cream opaque shimmer
Cobbler: A bronzy prune shimmer
Candied Peach: A perfect peach matte with flecks of pink glitter
Bellini: A rose gold shimmer
Peach Pit: A rich prune coloured shimmer
Delectable: A fresh grape coloured matte with flecks of gold glitter

Second row swatches on myself!
Second row swatches on my sister!
Peaches 'N Cream: A light cream opaque matte
Georgia: A strawberry milkshake pink matte
Caramelized: A bronzy dark brown shimmer
Puree: A warm brown matte transition shade
Summer Yum: A warm toned brick-like brown patte
Talk Derby To Me: A dark blue verging on black matte with flecks of pink glitter

Third row swatches on myself! (As you can see, the dark shades don't show up incredibly well on me)

Finally, the third row swatches on my sister!

Overall, I love this palette; the price is quite reasonable for the highly pigmented shades included that blend beautifully. A few of those shades individually missed the mark for me: 'White Peach', for me is slightly patchy, 'Georgia' is quite powdery and dry in texture and, finally, 'Talk Derby To Me' is a bit of a let down, due to it's chunky glitter and lack of pigment in the actual shade. I also thought it would be quite interesting to mention that the disappointing shade 'Talk Derby to me' is identical to a shade 'Huckleberry' I own in the Too Faced 'The chocolate shop' Christmas edition, however, it's absolutely gorgeous in the other palette; I don't know what happened but I think the formula must be different, as you'll be able to see by the performance of both shadows in the swatches below.

As you can see, the colour is identical, but the pigment difference is definitely there.
To conclude, because this post is getting LONG you guys, this palette IS, in my humble opinion, worth the money, despite the few hiccups that I've mentioned along the way. If you want I highly versatile palette that, first of all, smells divine (I could eat this, I swear), contains a decent amount of product for the price and is long lasting and durable, this guy is definitely the one for you. Make that investment; it's worth it!

  2. I just wanted to say that I feel more inclined to buy this palette after reading this post. Initially, I wasn't really trying to explore it as an option because I had my eyes completely on my future baby fawther, the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette. However, after reading this and seeing how pigmented it is and that it even SMELLS like peaches (they're my fave fruit btw) I think I just might have to bite the bullet and swipe my card. Great first post back and happy new year! :*
