My 7 Travel Makeup Essentials! (Collab)

Hey guys! So, today, I'm bringing you this post on my 7 travel makeup essentials, which is also in collaboration with my lovely fellow blogger Mariyam. Don't hesitate to check out her blog (click here!) as she's such a genuine, kind hearted person with a beautiful content feed.

All I know is that I'm a regular reader, which means you should be too!

Anyway, let's get right into the good stuff! You guys know me and my makeup obsession (which is getting worse by the way!) so choosing only seven items to whisk away with me on vacation was a really tough challenge. It's like being asked to select which one of your parents is your favourite. You just can't do it.

However, despite the process being like pulling teeth, I managed to finally whittle it down in order to bring you nothing but the best.

LA Girl Pro Conceal
For me, when I'm travelling, foundation is just a no no. Not going to happen. Instead of wasting my holiday time and blocking my pores with huge amounts of product, I like to use a concealer that matches my skintone (my face has tanned, so yes, it does match) just to do some correction work and cover anything that doesn't really need to be there.

If you read my March Pharmacy Faves post, then you'll know that I'm really loving the LA Girl Pro Conceal at the moment. This is a much simpler way of obtaining a really good finish that won't cause your face to melt off at the beach or in transit. How embarrassing?

Sacha Setting Powder
Obviously, for any liquid product applied, some form of setting powder is required. That is, if you want your cake to stay on all day long.

This transparent powder from Sacha Cosmetics works for absolutely everybody and, best of all, doesn't give an ashy appearance to your skin. Holiday flash photography? No problem at all with this powder!

Kiko Eyebrow Sculpt Pencil
No matter where you are in the world, brows will always remain a vital part of any makeup routine. I'm not saying that you've got to go crazy and draw the Batman symbol in the middle of your forehead, but a little brow is always welcome.

Kiko Milano's brow pencil is the perfect travel item; the pigment is definitely controllable and the design of the stick itself makes it really easy to use.

Japan, Turkey, Thailand; who cares? Your brow game will ALWAYS be on point.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar:
So, for my eyeshadow, here we have the gorgeous Chocolate Bar palette. This is, for sure, one of the most versatile, natural palettes I own; it's so easy just to pick up and create a number of looks with. I mean, you've gotta love it for travelling - it's a CLASSIC.

Too Faced 'Better Than Sex' Mascara
Everybody knows and loves this mascara; it's such good quality and keeps the lashes beautifully coated and voluminous all day long. However, when on the road, I much prefer my mini version to tag along with me, as it saves me that little bit of extra space. And, isn't it just so adorable?!

Mac's 'Modesty' Lipstick
Mac lipsticks are some of my favourites; there are so many different shades and finishes to choose from. If you imagine your dream lipstick now, chances are, Mac has already created your exact vision.

Well, that's how I felt when I found the shade 'Modesty'. It's the perfect pinky/mauve nude for all dark skinned divas and light skinned lovelies and, with it's cremesheen finish, it's hydrating and nourishing for the lips.

What a perfect holiday lippie!

For Mac's second mention, this wonderful product we have here has certainly earned the honorable position of being included in my travel makeup kit. Fix plus spray is seriously everything to me; I use it during almost every stage of my routine meaning that I can't leave it behind.

And plus, on a hot Summer's morning abroad, a spritz or two now and again does me the WORLD of good!

Thank you guys so much for reading about my travel makeup essentials! Do make sure that you go over to Mariyam's blog and check out her take on this post, which will be posted today too!

When was your last holiday? What makeup/beauty products did you feel it necessary to bring along with you? Let me know in the comments section and, as usual, feel free to follow myself (on social media) and this blog for more content just like this!

Until next time,
Marina Rosie x

  14. Such a great holiday makeup bag! Modesty is such a beautiful shade and looks like it's an easy to wear, comfortable option too. I really struggle to pick makeup for travel, I used to end up taking half my collection with me! When we went on honeymoon (a staycation so weight wasn't an issue) I realised that I wore the same few products and wasted a lot of time choosing my makeup. From then on, I've made a concerted effort to pack lighter and have gotten a lot better! Xx

    1. Thanks so much for reading Tania, and omg, I used to take EVERYTHING with my on holiday, and by that I mean, everything but the kitchen sink! x Since then, I too have toned it down and normally take around 7 things with me! It's true, we never use all of the things we bring; it's only worth bringing the essentials! x

  15. I bring way too many products with me when I travel, I don't know if I could ever narrow it down to just 7! Love all your picks though, and you make a good point about wearing just concealer without foundation. Cuts down application time and it's one less product to bring :P

  17. My last holiday was in September 2016 and I did pack a lot more because there was no need to travel light. But I have a road trip coming up a little later this year and will see if I can streamline my makeup down to seven items...

  20. So many lovely products here, hun! :) I have had my eye on that Too Faced palette for ages, the shades look absolutely stunning; but I am a little torn between that one and their Sweet Peach one, have you tried it? I am always on the lookout for a good setting powder and the one you featured sounds absolutely amazing. :) Thank you so much for sharing, and I hope you're having a wonderful Easter weekend, lovely! xoxo
