Drugstore Delights - Technic Cosmetics Brand Focus

After scrolling past Technic Cosmetics so many times on Ebay during my frequent online shopping sprees, I thought it was about time to give their makeup a go!

So, thanks to the wonderful Georgia, I received a few products free of charge to test and review here with you guys, which is exactly what were going to do today!

Admittedly, I've been so excited to do this post due to the overwhelming appearance of high end makeup brands on my blog; makeup is for everybody and I don't wish to cause or create any kind of restrictions for those of you that aren't willing to splash out £50 a piece on an eyeshadow palette. (I don't blame you, honestly...)

Technic is an incredibly affordable brand, producing a variety of makeup products and targeting a number of skintones and types. A majority of the makeup that I have here today caters for deeper skintones, as I'm mixed raced, however, all of the products are available in a number of shades - If you see something you like (which I guarantee you will!) chances are, it will be available in a colour similar to your own! Everybody wins! Please note that the prices of Technic products may vary due to the fact that they have literally hundreds of stockists. (The prices I've used are mean averages, calculated using several prices from several websites.)

So, without further ado, let's get into the reviews and discuss these beautiful Technic goodies!

Eyeshadow 6's Nudes - £1.49

Being an eyeshadow palette junkie, I decided this would be the best place to start. This set of shadows impressed me more than I'd ever imagined it would and I've been absolutely loving using these to create beautiful, shimmery eye looks.

The shades within this palette range from a glowy white gold all the way to a frosted charcoal, each and every one of these being utterly buttery and smooth. There's nothing I hate more in this world than chunky glitter in a shadow (I think you guys know that by now but I thought I'd reiterate it!) and these couldn't be more opposed - they glide on with ease and create more of a reflective, "wet" effect than a textured one, which is just perfect for me.

Due to the pigment, feel and travel friendliness of this palette, I can't really fault it and highly recommend it because, honestly, the smoothness of these is any makeup lovers dream. Lately, I've been choosing this palette over some of my most expensive buys - it definitely deserves some more love and recognition.

Colour Fix Bronze Palette - £3.79

Being a WOC (woman of colour), the shades within this bronzing palette would seriously struggle to be seen on my skin, let alone sculpt or warm anything up. However, I still get a hell of a lot of use out of it!

I, personally, believe in the multi use of makeup products that are supposedly meant to serve one purpose - this bronzing palette, consisting of 6 mattes and 2 shimmers, has been used within my routine as powder, blush, eyeshadow AND highlight! The shades are all very pigmented and smooth, lasting all day without fading or creasing.

Don't judge a book by it's cover, eh? Next time, if you're gifted or sent a product that immediately makes you doubt just how useful it's going to be to you, think again because this has been the highlight (literally and figuratively!) of all of my recent makeup looks.

Strobe Kit (Blush) - £3.99

CALLING ALL HIGHLIGHTER ADDICTS - this is definitely one for you. This strobe kit in the shade "Blush" is absolutely stunning and has been rocking my inner corner, browbone and cupid's bow for the last while.

Unfortunately, both the cream highlighters and the powder highlighters are slightly too light for me to apply to my cheeks and nose without looking like an extraterrestrial being, however, as I mentioned, they work beautifully for me in other areas. I'm obsessed with the creamy formula and pigmentation so, for those of you who love to blind, this would be an amazing addition to your collection.

Colour Fix Loose Powder (Terracotta) - £3.99

Again, another wonderful face product from Technic! This face powder has been rocking my world lately, as it's getting incredibly hot here in France and, unless I want my makeup to melt off of my face, setting that cake is vital.

I was really surprised at how well this powder actually matched my red undertones and the smooth finish it provided over the top of my foundation. The powder is very finely milled and, although not completely opaque, still provides some light coverage to the face. There is 100% no creasing with this product, however, I did have to reapply once during the day, as I noticed that my forehead area was becoming a little patchy.

However, overall, looking at the price point and quality, that fact that one reapplication is required doesn't let the product down and I'd still recommend it.

Colour Max Lipstick Matte (Deep Purple) - £1.66

As well as the delicious fragrance of candy, there are a lot positives regarding this lipstick. First of all, I'm obsessed with the colour, as anything within the vampy, berry spectrum is always right up my street and goes swimmingly with my skintone.

The actual lipstick is fairly opaque, providing a good amount of coverage to the lips in just one swipe, however, I recommend layering it for a better and more flawless finish. It's very comfortable to wear and almost feels like it isn't there when on the lips - I'd call it more semi-matte than matte due to the fact that it doesn't dry down completely. (I'm kind of into that if I'm honest, as it's more moisturising)

Mega Lash - £3.33
I am absolutely loving this mascara at the moment! For me, I like my mascaras to be really lengthening and this definitely does the trick.

It's super black, long lasting and separates the lashes nicely with the flexible silicone wand - you won't be wandering around with spider lashes with this mascara.

Overall, I'm incredibly impressed by everything I've seen here from Technic. Despite not being a high end brand, the quality of their newest products is impeccable and I'm willing to stand by these 100%.

You can purchase Technic Makeup on a number of outlets, but some of my favourites are Love Thy Makeup, Fragrance Direct and Beauty Base.

Thank you so much for reading today's post and discovering more about the wonderful brand Technic!

  1. Honestly, i'm afraid to try all of these cheap products because of their components... for some reason i don't want to put all of these stuff for my face but on the other hand, i'm not sure if any other drugstore brand with a mid. price would be better? I hope you see my point of view... :)

  27. I always learn about such great new brands from you Marina! This is my first time hearing of Tecnic but I appreciate brands that deliver great quality while still keeping prices affordable. I'm not a fan of chunky glitter either and I find that drugstore brands' powders are usually not as fine and more prone to that chunky glitter look, so it's awesome that Tecnic doesn't go down that route. Thank you for sharing their great products with us!
