£220 Worth Of Makeup For Only £102! WTF?

As you guys know, I love makeup. But, what's better than makeup, you may ask? Well the answer to that one is simple: DISCOUNTED MAKEUP!

Recently, I discovered an absolutely amazing makeup outlet, www.cosmetics-skincare.co.uk, run by the wonderful Laura Duncan, specialising in 100% authentic cosmetics, skincare and nailcare for lower prices. The moment I laid eyes on the website and read the slogan ('Beauty doesn't need to be expensive... Anymore...') I knew that this was something I really wanted to promote for you guys here on my blog - I am always pro affordable when it comes to products!

Therefore, Laura and I decided to collaborate on this post (all products were kindly gifted to me), bringing you a haul of mostly high-end products that you can purchase via her website with MASSIVE discounts! I urge you to go over to www.cosmetics-skincare.co.uk and check it out for yourselves - not only are the prices wonderful, but the service is too: Laura is the most attentive and sweet store owner to all of her customers.

So, without further ado, bring on the makeup haul!

Cargo 'Let's meet in Paris' Eye Palette
Original Price: £36.00
Laura's Price: £19.99

I practically fell in love with this palette the moment I saw it - Cargo isn't a brand that I've experimented with before but have LONGED to try out, so when I came across this beauty, I simply couldn't resist.

Adorned with luxe baroque fabric, this palette definitely has the look and feel of something much more expensive, and the 12 metallic shades definitely back that up.

From top to bottom: Macaron, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Creme Brulee, Bonjour, Cafe

From top to bottom: Baguette, Croissant, Versailles, Madame, Bastille, Beret

As you may be able to tell from the swatches, all shades are intensely pigmented with a beautifully buttery texture that blends well with other shadows. I'm also fairly impressed with the longevity of these - after applying them in the morning, I, of course, expected some sort of fading or movement by evening time, however, that wasn't the case!

Overall, after venturing outside my warm toned 'safe haven', I can safely say this is most definitely a palette worth investing in. So if you're looking for some stunning metallic shades (there's even a duochrome thrown in the mix! EEK!) to rock your world then I strongly suggest that you go for this one.

Too Faced Selfie Powders
Original Price: £32.00
Laura's Price: £14.49

Admittedly, I have been after this little gem for a while too - YouTube nowadays makes EVERYTHING look incredibly tempting (putting us makeup lovers further into debt). So I ignored the mixed reviews and decided I would make a decision on this product for myself. And, to be honest, I'm quite enjoying my experience with it!

'Sunrise' is a wonderful yellow shade that's perfect for my undereye area - being a dark skinned diva, using a yellow toned powder to brighten the face up is something I do on the daily, and this one definitely does the trick, creating a soft focus effect at the same time. I absolutely adore it!

As for the other two, 'Totally Toasted' would make a stunning bronzer for those of you of a slightly lighter skin tone, however, on my face, it doesn't show up at all which I'm not too annoyed at, as I expected it. 'Moon River', for me, acts as a  quasi-transparent powder, adding a wonderful 'illuminated' look to the skin - who doesn't want to look glowy?

As a whole, I totally recommend this face palette - I've never looked so HD in my entire life!

Lancome 'Virtuose' Mascara (Black)
Original Price: £22
Laura's Price: £15.99

Lancome has always been a brand that, for me, I've not been physically able to persuade myself to purchase from - they're simply too bougie for me and I can't afford the majority of their products without having to save for a substantial amount of time.
But after discovering the sheer beauty of this mascara, I'm going to be making constant Lancome purchases from Laura's site and hooking myself up with some affordable deals!

The 'Virtuose' mascara is, for sure, a triumph and has become a keeper within my makeup collection. I adore the fat, curved wand, as it allows you to get into those crevices at the same time as generously coating the lashes. And that, ladies and gentlemen, results in a stunningly voluminous finish, which is always a winner in my books.

Urban Decay 'Urban Glow' Cream Highlight (Brown Sugar)
Original Price: £18
Laura's Price: £8.99

This product tempted me due to it's wonderfully creamy texture and, also, it's shade - it's absolutely bang on for my skin tone (it's a brownish cool toned gold), providing a highlight that can definitely be considered 'blinding' but, at the same time, not too vicious.

It glides on wonderfully, with the aid of the correct highlighting brush, and adds a beautiful, dewy glow to any look which, for me, bodes well as we're well into the summer months and glowing is KEY. Quick tip: if you are into a more intense highlight, add a spritz of setting spray before application - it really enhances the pigment and takes it to the next level.

Benefit Cream Eyeshadow (My Date's Brother)
Original Price: £14
Laura's Price: £6.99

Let me just say, I'm absolutely loving this one currently - cream eyeshadows are something I'm less familiar with but will, for sure, be purchasing again in the future, as there is so much to love about them.

This shadow pot in the shade 'My Date's Brother' (with a semi-shimmer finish) is a delicate baby pink hue, meaning it makes a perfect little moment in the centre of the lid but can just as easily be used in the inner corner for that desired POP of colour.

The texture is also spectacular - it glides on and blends in seamlessly when applied with a flat eyeshadow brush. For one of my first experiences with a cream eyeshadow pot, I couldn't really wish for more, so I'm going use this product sparingly until I can purchase a new one!

Stila Shadow Mousse Pot (Amber)
Original Price: £17
Laura's Price: £4.49

So, again, we have a very pretty eyeshadow pot but, this time, with a more whipped, mousse-like texture, which I actually love. This incredibly metallic, light purple shadow is so lightweight, doesn't crease at all and looks absolutely gorgeous as a swift wash of colour on the lids on your way out of the house. (So, for those of you that have a limited amount of time on your hands in the morning, I totally recommend picking this up!)

I like to use it with an eyeshadow primer just underneath - due to the sheer lack of weight and volume, it's very easy to lose most of the pigment halfway through the day when worn alone. But when it's on, it's a real head turner.

Korres Eyeshadow Quad (Natural Collection)
Original Price: £48
Laura's Price: £12.99

To be perfectly honest, I'd never heard of the brand Korres before seeing this lovely, warm quad appear on Laura's website - I chose it purely based on the fact that it's truly breathtaking. However, after doing some further research, I was delighted to discover that all of their products are, indeed, enriched with natural ingredients, which earnt them an extra few ticks on the scoresheet.

This particular palette contains 4 warm shimmers with antioxidant sunflower and evening primrose oils in order to cater for those who have more sensitive eyes.

From top to bottom: 65 Rose Pink, 36 Brun, 62 Light Pink, 25 Golden

Although sheerer than other shadows of the same price range, the shades are all buttery, crease-resistant and very complimentary with one another, so if you're looking for a simple yet stunning quad to create everyday looks with, this guy will definitely do you proud.

Nars Trio Eyeshadow (Calanque)
Original Price: £33
Laura's Price: £18.99

After hearing positive things about Nars eyeshadows, I decided to go for this harmonious trio of basic shades to start off my collection, as I've never purchased any of their shadows before.

Now, normally I do adore their quirky (sometimes naughty) makeup items, however, I did have a few issues when using these that I won't lie to you guys about. First of all, the pigmentation isn't at all what I'd thought it would be for £33 - over the years, I can guarantee that I've used some higher performance drugstore shadows costing around £5.00. So, yes, that was a real bummer for me, however, the texture and blendability may make up for that, as they work wonderfully with other eyeshadows and aren't too powdery at all. I also love the concept of having 3 transitioning shades within the same compact: my life when travelling is going to be ten times easier!

Overall, despite the ups and downs, I do quite like this trio, primarily for the texture, however, if you'd like perfect consistency AND intense pigmentation, I'd ditch the Nars and take a look at purchasing a palette from Juvia's Place - they're my ALL TIME favourite eyeshadow brand, and the prices aren't too crazy either.

And, 8 products later, that's finally a wrap on this high-end makeup haul! As you can see, on Laura's site, the deals and discounts are absolutely phenomenal - honestly, I'm SHOOK at the difference in price of each and every product! Please go and check out Laura's amazing website, www.cosmetics-skincare.co.uk, and make your purchases ASAP - I know that I'll be purchasing a majority of my luxury cosmetics on there from now on!
