Best of K-Beauty: Style Korean Haul (Volume 2)

Hey there beauties! I have something special for you today, which happens to be the much awaited and very late (so sorry) second volume of my Style Korean haul posts as a part of my 'Best of K-Beauty' series.

I was, indeed, supposed to release this post rather a while ago, however, as you know, I did take my blogging "vacay" which delayed it quite a bit but, as the proverb goes, there's no time like the present; I'm going to make a concerted effort to get back in to doing these on the regular as they've been heavily requested.

So, for those of you who either don't remember or haven't read volume one (if you haven't read it, I honestly don't know what you're doing with your life, click here for the full scoop), Style Korean specialise in providing the hottest, most up-to-date Korean cosmetics to the entire world and the vast majority of those that I've tried so far have been AMAZING. Therefore, in a continuation of my ongoing gifting-based collaboration with Style Korean, I propose we get straight into this post because we've got a lot of different products to explore today - it's gonna be K-razy (forgive me for that awful pun...)

[Natural Pacific] Lèvre Lip Oil (03 Hazelnut) - $9.99 (currently sold out)
First and foremost, we've simply GOT to talk about this baby as she's been all over my lips of late; I can't get enough of the sweet scent and honey-like texture! Although it's branded as a lip "oil", I, personally, would describe this as more of a gloss (it's slightly more sticky than I'd imagine a lip oil to be), however, it's so comfortable on the lips as just an everyday, clear sheen to enhance your pout (or, if you're a bit more bougie, you can even add some loose glitter over the top for an utterly dazzling finish).  This also has a mild plumping effect (Kylie Jenner, eat your heart out...) and just allows the lips to really stand out, even on days where you weren't planning on wearing any makeup at all, which makes it a total win in my opinion.

[It's Skin] Babyface Petit Mascara (01 Curling) - $4.37
Next up is this cheeky little (or, as the French would say,"petit" - language goals are indeed rather shook) mascara from the brand It's Skin, which I've been loving lately for popping straight into my bag when I'm in a major rush and can't afford to waste time applying my makeup meticulously at home. This is such cute product aesthetically to have on one's person and fulfils its duty to the consumer as a mascara -  it's jet black, curls the lashes nicely (with the help of the curved wand) and is very affordable at just over $4. However, one thing I will say is that I don't recommend wearing it to an occasion likely to provoke a strong emotional response (like at a christening, for example or, even more obviously, a funeral), as this will smudge like a b*tch and you'll end up looking like Marilyn Manson after a heavy rainstorm, which isn't always a good look. In spite of the lack of that waterproof element, overall, I still think this is a good quality mascara, especially for the low price you're paying and how long it'll last you.

[Nature Republic] Real Nature Foam Cleanser (Rose) - $6.04
On to the cleansers (as you may be able to tell from the image above, I love my cleansing foams...), starting with this rose-scented one, which I really have been enjoying of late, mostly due to the fact that it isn't drying at all, feels soft and velvety on the skin upon application and during lathering and, last but not least, cleanses very thoroughly (this thing TEARS through makeup guys). I also like the fact that it's accessible to everybody - its gentle nature means that even people with the most sensitive skin won't see any irritation after use and the hint of rose is subtle enough to avoid erring into the "offputting" category of scented skincare. I totally recommend it!

[It's Skin] Have a Orange Cleansing Foam - $8.00
This particular cleanser, I've found, is amazing at waking/freshening up the skin towards the morning time, as it smells just like a glass of Tropicana Orange juice (no bits, of course - I don't understand why people even tolerate the version with floating orange pulp in it) and has a light and fluffy texture. It lathers almost immediately when in contact with water, making it easy to use, and has a shiny, almost pearl-like finish to it, meaning you even look pretty decent using it, which is a rare occurrence for a cleanser (who doesn't wanna glow while cleansing?). Whether it be on the face or body, this leaves your skin feeling supple and squeaky clean - you really can't go wrong.

[The saem] Natural Condition Cleansing Foam (Purifying) - $8.00
Due to the fact that it's absolutely packed full of plant-derived ingredients (which you really reap the benefits from after 2-3 weeks of continued use), this cleansing foam is my favourite of the bunch. With Hovenia dulcis fruit and Spearmint extract, the skin is always left feeling moisturised, nourished and refreshed, all whilst providing a very soothing cooling effect at the same time. I will definitely be buying another one of these as soon as my current one is finished, as it does just clinch the victory over the others when it comes to calming down inflammations of the face and keeping spots at bay.

[Mamonde] Lotus Micro Cleansing Foam - $5.89 (currently sold out)
So, last but not least, here we have the final cleansing foam which, in my opinion, is very fairly similar to the first one in texture, in how smooth it leaves the skin post-routine and also in how gently it lathers and deals with imperfections on the surface of the face. I'm also obsessed with the smell of this though - who knew lotus smelt so bloody good? Certainly not me, so if I were you, I wouldn't miss picking this bad boy up (when it's back in stock, obviously) for such a good price.

[CORINGCO] Marine Blue Make Up Brush Collection (6P) - $17.76
Moving back into makeup (well, makeup tools to be specific), I was also graced with this adorable, "marine" themed mini brush set which, honestly, feels like it was made especially for me, given the name (I'm literally a mermaid guys), focal colours and convenient sizes. Despite being synthetic (which I'm not normally into), these brushes have managed to remain fluffy, baby soft and, better yet, shedding-hair-less (when you can't find the word, just wing it folks) - it's been a hot minute since I first received and used them so that is rather impressive. You also get a fairly good range of mini brushed for your money (1 powder brush, 1 blush brush, 1 crease blender, 1 concealer brush, 1 brush for smoking out the under eye and 1 double ended brush with a spoolie and a fine angled brush) so, if you're looking for a few brushes to take on holiday/on a quick road trip with, bring these; at least you know they won't shed like a labrador during your stay.

[Nature Republic] Real Nature Clay Mask (Ginseng) - $6.07 (currently sold out)
Now, for the penultimate item of our haul (yes, we're nearly at the end, no need to put the kettle on for another cup of tea...) we have the Ginseng clay mask by Nature Republic who, in my experience, are very consistent with the quality of the skincare items they're putting out, and this mask is no exception. This, out of the entire collection of cosmetics, was the first to be completely finished (and scraped until the last microgram of product was removed) - I simply loved using it! With concentrated Ginseng extract as well as coconut extract, this mask is perfect for providing some much needed nourishment and moisture to dry, tired skin and leaves you with a stunningly dewy and healthy complexion - I'll be purchasing these in BULK, trust me.

[ARITAUM] Fresh Power Essence Pouch Pack (Honey) - $1.50 (currently sold out)
And last, but certainly not least, is this wacky, 'pamper night' style face mask pouch that's, in reality, made to be used all in one application (although I stretched mine to two because I happen to be that extra bit greedier than the average person) for some much needed skin TLC. I, by choice, opted for the honey mask, as honey has some AH-MAZING restorative properties, and was not disappointed by the cooling, gel like substance that came out of the pouch, nor the plump skin I was left with after the fact. Unfortunately, I couldn't take photos of this beauty up close (come on, I'm not Jenny from Geeky Posh, I can't make empties look that good) but it was definitely a wonderful mask to play with and even managed to exceed my expectations, which is hard to do, so bravo, Aritaum

Thank you so much for making it to the end of volume 2!  I really hope you enjoyed reading and exploring these new and somewhat 'wacky' K-Beauty products as much as I did - you never know what you can find on the market in different countries nowadays.

Have you had any experiences with K-beauty? If so, did you enjoy the products you tried?

If you'd like to see a volume 3 of my Style Korean sub-series (which I promise write in a more timely manner this time), don't hesitate to leave me a quick comment indicating that, along with any other pearls of wisdom, feedback or questions you may have - hearing from those who read my blog really makes my day! Also, before you head off, don't forget to follow my blog for updates on when I post more beauty discovery posts just like this one!

Until next time,
Marina Rosie x

  4. You got some amazing skincare. A year ago I visited Korea and was amazed at the amount and variety of skincare that was available. I got a lot of sheet masks and some other face masks. I am really loving their stuff. Living in Philippines it is easy to find Korean skincare when I need. :-) I am interested in trying the Nature Republics clay mask and the lip oil that you have featured. Lovely post now heading to read your earlier one.

  6. I've never ectually tried K beauty! I wouldn't know where to get it, honestly. I'm not very informed on it, haha.
I've heard their skin care especially is something to look into, they are so occupied with their skin and taking care of it. Which is good, of course.

The brushes look amazing, I can't believe they're not more expensive!

  7. I adore kBeauty and never looked back ever since diving into it. I love that kbeauty concentrates on hydration which helps my previously bone-dry skin. Sounds like the saem cleanser is a clear winner out of this bunch and I'm looking forward to your part 3 post!
