Up For Review: BeGlow PURA Skinsense Sonic Cleansing Brush

Happy Sunday guys! I hope everyone has had an absolutely wonderful week, even those of you who are still in lockdown - stay strong because, trust me, your actions are saving thousands of lives. I, myself, have been out of lockdown since Monday and, I must admit, it does feel rather good to be able to leave the house without having to write an entire certificate of authorisation (I know, French regulations were TOUGH). In addition, it's also meant that I've been able to return to my University accommodation and have a somewhat emotional reunion with a few of the ride or die skincare bits I was forced to leave behind during my frantic, pre-quarantine packing spree. One of those products, as you may be able to tell, happens to be the PURA Skinsense Sonic Cleansing Brush from BeGlow.

Now, originally, I was kindly gifted this tool several months ago by the brand to test out and review for you guys and, whilst I successfully completed the first step, I never actually got round to sharing my thoughts and opinions about it on my platforms due to the lengthy blogging break I took to properly mourn my loss in 2019. However, given just how much my skin missed this baby during lockdown, I decided to take the "better late than never" approach and still provide you with a thorough review in my regular fashion as, quite frankly, this product deserves it.

So, let's dive in with a basic description first. PURA is essentially a completely waterproof, incredibly compact (therefore perfect for travelling) cleansing brush that, through the partnership of the pulsations emitted from the device itself and the texture of the removable silicone brush head, makes for a much deeper cleansing experience. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Well, let me tell you something: it feels even better.

Personally, I would go as far as to liken the sensation of using this brush on the skin to a professional facial massage. With its 'Skinsense' technology, PURA somehow manages to gradually build and intensify pulsations based on contact with the user's face which I think is remarkable, especially for a consumer as lazy as myself; you can simply let the device do all the work. Alternatively, if you're a control freak (joking), you can seize the power back for yourself by clicking the button a second time whilst the device is already on in order to enter the standard cleansing mode - the choice is yours! Either way, what I love about those pulsations is that they really increase the level of blood flow to the surface of my skin (which, in the long run, improves collagen production and reduces any natural signs of ageing) and help my chosen face wash to dislodge oil and dirt from my pores in a much more effective manner. Post-cleanse, my face tends to ditch its congested feeling in favour of a smoother, softer and more purified result - if your skin needs a complete detox, PURA will definitely satisfy your needs.

However, one thing to note is that those pulsations don't act alone. The removable silicone brush head lightly exfoliates the skin whilst removing surface-level impurities and DEMOLISHING any leftover dregs of makeup from the day; when removing my cake, manual cleansing just doesn't cut it for me anymore. The bristles are also made to resist bacteria build-up and can be cleaned with ease after each usage, meaning that the device remains ultra-hygienic for a lot longer than the average skincare tool; the brush head only really needs changing about once a year.

Currently, this skincare hero retails for £109 from Look Fantastic (you can also purchase it from a range of other sites including the likes of Next, CurrentBody and Urban Outfitters) and is available in both the sleek white colour I own and a beautiful baby pink shade. Of course, I recognise that the price tag is likely to be considered rather steep by the majority (including myself - I have NOT got that kind of coin at the moment) however, as an investment, I can promise it's worth every penny. For your money, you're getting the perfect, pocket-sized skincare companion that, after a full charge, will be able to turn washing your face into a true pampering session for up to six months before needing to be charged again. PURA really requires ZERO effort but delivers maximum enjoyment and results - don't hesitate to give it a shot if you're looking for that extra something-something to boost your skincare routine.

Thank you so much for reading today's post! It genuinely feels as if I've not posted a review in donkey's years; I'm really happy to be putting out this one today.

Is your skin in need of a tad more TLC? If so, would you consider purchasing the PURA Skinsense Sonic cleansing brush?

    1. It's totally worth the investment if you can manage to save up. If you can't then it totally recommend the Nivea Pure Skin Brush (I think it's about £50) or, if you're on a lower budget, I have a lovely simple face brush from Kiko that was around £5 that does an amazing job at really getting the product into the skin! x
