HOT: Quartz Beauty's ENTIRE Boss Gloss Collection

Welcome, my gorgeous people, to another blog post and, as you can see (that is, if you haven't already been blinded by the level of sparkle within the cover photo - my bad), we're back to beauty with this 5 piece Boss Gloss collection by the wonderful Quartz Beauty.

Just to give you guys a bit of background, Quartz Beauty is an independent, cruelty-free, UK based Cosmetics brand, specialising in "makeup just as unique as you are", which is a pretty bomb slogan if you ask me. After being kindly welcomed into the PR family by the Creative Director, it's fair to say that I was pretty excited for the first few gifted goodies to arrive and, when they did, my face literally lit up to see the brand SPANKING new Boss Gloss collection right in front of me.

Before I continue the review, can we just take a moment just to process how stunning these actually are? Right above, in all of their glory, are all five shades of Boss Gloss which, evidently, are incredibly pearlised, providing a dazzling, high shine finish, both when used alone and in conjunction with other products as a lip topper. Being someone with a self-proclaimed packaging addiction (and I know I'm not alone in my struggle so don't even pretend for a SECOND that you're not a stickler for well presented makeup), it's necessary for me to comment on the fact that the simplicity of the tube really allows the contents to speak for itself and have its little moment, which, I find, not only makes these ideal dressing table products but also gives them a more expensive look and feel.

Now, confession time: since receiving the glosses, attempting consumption of them has, for sure, been on the cards a few times at minimum - they smell AMAZING. Despite the fact I can't quite distinguish a precise match for the scent, I'm going to have to go with a cross between honeycomb, caramel and shortbread which, as you can imagine, makes a damn good combination (seriously, when getting up close and personal for the swatches, I could have sworn I was on the set of Bake Off).

Speaking of swatches, it's about time I stopped waxing lyrical about desserts and got onto the juicy part because, by now, I bet you guys are dying to see what these look like on my trusty model: my left arm. As usual, I've also popped in a description of each shade from my point of view (although I'm not an expert) to go alongside the photos - let's get into it!

#1 Obscene
A rose gloss with predominantly pink reflective glitter

#2 Dirty
A gloss with predominantly gold reflective glitter

#5 Lavish
A gloss with icy silver reflective glitter

#6 Vulgar
A gloss with a mixture of gold and silver reflective glitter

#7 Flush
A peach gloss with gold reflective glitter

Yes, well spotted, I was in a rather decent mood when preparing this post and took the time out to swatch individually rather than collectively - it's clearer which shade is which and exactly why they're different from one another. Despite loving them all, I do have a favourite (don't worry, that's allowed - this is makeup, not children) and it's #7, simply because of how beautiful peach tones compliment darker skin.

With regards to formula, I'm a happy bunny without complaints as, firstly, they're not too sticky and don't glue my lips together, secondly, they're lightweight and, thirdly, they don't give me that weird "white line" effect around the area inside my mouth after a few hours of wear, which you guys know is a MAJOR pet peeve of mine. So, for £10 a piece, you really can't go wrong with these Boss Glosses - there's no faking quality.

In conclusion, I totally recommend, hand on heart, this collection to anybody looking to strengthen their lip gloss game because, at the moment, in the words of Lil Mama, "they say my lip gloss is cool, my lip gloss be poppin'" and, quite frankly, yours can be too if you pick up a few today (my deepest apologies for the cringe).

Thank you very much for reading today's post - I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together so I really hope it ends up being a good read!

  1. That lavish gloss looks absolutely gorgeous. Such a pretty shade to just pop into the middle of your lip to make it look bigger if that makes any sense? Im such a sucker for lipgloss, I love it. Great post!

    1. Hi there Melody! That's awful news but not uncommon as we're entering into the colder Winter months. I totally recommend a good lip scrub followed by an intensely nourishing lip balm (such as the Nuxe Rêve De Miel) and your lips should be back in good shape in no time! I really wish you good luck! xx

  7. These all look so pretty and I love the description you gave for their scent. They sound gorgeous.

I haven't heard of this brand before either.

Love that they aren't sticky either, that's something I absolutely hate with lip glosses! Bit surprised that they are £10 each.. maybe I'm super cheap, but I wasn't expecting that.

Great review and photos. Thanks for sharing and swatching! ♥

    1. Hey there darl - always appreciate you comments and the time you take to write them! I'm so glad you're loving the sound of both the quality and the scent of these babies - £10 each, to be honest, for the amount you're getting here is pretty good. The Lip Glasses by Mac, as amazing as they are, would be what I call a rip off, as you're not getting very much product - it might be hard to tell from these photos but the Boss Glosses come in a fairly large rectangular container, so they'll last a lot longer! x Thanks for loving the review! x
