I haven't done too many posts about haircare here on my blog, primarily because I just don't consider myself a shining example when it comes to looking after my locks. Given my frizzy, difficult hair, over the years, I've experimented with chemical straightening and still do it to this day; my tight curls are simply unmanageable without it!
However, every action has its repercussions; a while ago, I noticed that my hair didn't have the same healthy glow as before and was very fragile and susceptible to breakage. And, for me, as soon as these observations occurred to me, I knew I needed to do something serious in order to boost my hair's nourishment DRASTICALLY.
And that's where Argan oil comes in!
Natural Argan oil is produced the Kernels of the Argan tree, and it contains a high vitamin E and fatty acid content, making it absolutely perfect for nourishing and softening. Although Argan oil can also be used on skin, I tend to use it for my hair, either in it's original form or as a hair mask.
I've owned so many different hair care products based on this lifesaver; over the years, I've FOR SURE found my preferred ones. Despite this, I'm always open to trying new things, so when the lovely company Argan Dew sent me some PR samples of their best sellers, I didn't hesitate to apply and relish the treatment!
So, lately, on top of my regular and much loved 'Renewing Argan oil of Morocco' by OGX Beauty (if you'd like a full review of this product, do let me know!) I've been enjoying my experience with what Argan Dew provided me.
Their replenishing hair mask is nothing short of genius; first of all, it smells like HEAVEN. Well, to me, it does. (I generally tend to love the scent of Argan oil, so it's nothing mindblowing.) Second of all, I can definitely say that, after a few uses, my hair has become a lot more fluffy and bouncy to the touch which indicates a HEALTHIER texture. However, I will say though, I didn't really feel a difference immediately after I'd rinsed the product out; just be patient and allow this mask several applications before expecting huge results.
Admittedly, I'm not as amazed by the results of their 'Miraculous' Argan oil, but that may be because I already use very similar products on a regular basis; I'm not going to judge the product in that manner. This oil works beautifully when massaged into the roots, and creates a nice shine to the hair, giving it the appearance of a healthy glow. With it's essential nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants, it's, of course, capable of revitalising broken/dry/coloured hair, like any other Argan oil.
Overall, my verdict is that Argan Dew have a lovely range of Argan oil based products that, although a little pricey, definitely do the job. But, in reality, there are other brands that will provide you with an item of comparable quality but at a much lower price. And, due to the importance of cost, I'd rather recommend alternate sources like OGX Beauty to you guys. I don't want to strap you for cash!
To finish this post up, in reality, no matter what brand you eventually decide to try out, Argan oil is a product that I trust 100% with my hair; It's FOR SURE come on leaps and bounds since I began experimenting with this Moroccan favourite. So to anyone out there, investing in Argan oil could be the key to renewing YOUR hair today.
Until next time,
Marina Rosie x

I have hair that gets greasy quickly so I'm always scared of the word oil when it comes to hair but I love the sound of this!
ReplyDeleteDanielle's Beauty Blog
Ah, Danielle, I get where you are coming from on that front but the truth of the matter is, just like skin, the more you deprive it of moisture and oil, the more it will produce. That's why if you've got oily skin you still need to moisturise. Same goes for hair, you should really try it out! xx

Totally agree with you dear, argan oil is a must have for my dry ends as well, and it makes such a big difference and smells sooo good! Right now I'm using the Moroccanoil Treatment which is argan-oil based, but I'm curious about the argan line from OGX Beauty now :D

Thanks for this review. I've never used argon oil for anything but I'm tempted to try a few drops on my hair after ceramic straightening as my hair can get quite static and dull looking. Thus far I've used an olive oil based spray. It would be interesting to see how argon oil compares.
ReplyDeleteHello there,
DeleteSo glad you enjoyed reading this, I actually do own quite a few olive oil based hair products too; they're very nourishing and I find that they soften my hair incredibly nicely. However, Argan oil will do exactly what you need; my hair gains a lot of extra volume and oomph from it! I have a feeling you'd love it! xx
Lots of love,
Marina Rosie xx

I used to use Argon Oil but I can't remember why I stopped using it. After a while, the hair care shops were raising the price of it so I'd buy less of it. Argon Oil controls the frizziness of my hair, especially as my hair is more thick in volume. Overall, thanks for this post review.

Yess, I have that Frizzy thick type of hair too and the Argan OIl really seems to tame it. Psyched that you found this review helpful for you x

Good to know I'm not the only one enthralled by the helping properties of Argan Oil. I would like to see a review of Renewing Argan oil by OGX as i have also used it, but it seemed as if I was the only one to have used this product
