Pharmacy Faves - My March Drugstore Highlights!

Okay, so we're pretty much at the end of March and, for me, that's the perfect time in which to share with you guys, my lovely readers, what I've been enjoying (definition: excessively using) this month.

However, I decided to make it a Pharmacy favourites kind of post (Drugstore, if you don't happen to be British) so that I could include products that are a hell of a lot cheaper; I, personally, can't afford to be throwing money at high end brands all the time. And I don't assume you guys want to do that either, especially when perfectly good quality makeup exists but for a FRACTION of the price.

So, unless you're a Kardashian with unlimited cash to splash, read on to find out what new and AFFORDABLE products you could add to your collection!

None of these products are particularly new, but it's only just come to my attention how amazing these little gems are!

Little Black Beauty Book (warm edition) by ELF - $10
I decided that I simply HAD to start with a palette, considering how much of an eyeshadow fetishist I really am. This baby, which I actually received as a Christmas gift, wiggled its way into my daily makeup routine about a week ago and ever since then I've been loving it! Swatches coming up now, row by row, in my regular fashion:

Elf did a beautiful job with the colour selection of this one, as there really is a huge range of warm tones (and some pops of colour!) to choose from.

As you guys can see, pigmentation isn't at the same level as the likes of Too Faced or Juvia's Place. (If you haven't seen the Juvia's Place shadows swatches, then you're really missing out. Click here to feast your eyes!) However, for such a low price, nobody can expect miracles. On the other hand, the blending experience is pretty good and the fallout is honestly very limited, making this a very easy palette to work with and enjoy.

A quick word of warning: these shadows aren't incredibly long wearing if applied alone, so I advise you select one of your favourite eyeshadow primers to wear underneath. When I paired them with my trusty Shadow Insurance by Too Faced, they SLAYED all day! (My little pun there took ages to think of, so I do hope it was appreciated)

In conclusion, this pocket sized palette by ELF has managed to win my heart over, but will it win yours?

LA Girl HD Pro Conceal - $4
I can't even tell you guys how long I'd been after one of these damn concealers after hearing them being spoken about a while ago on YouTube. And I'm just going to say right now that they are 100% worth the hype; I absolutely adore mine.

Upon purchasing this concealer from the LA Girl France website ( by the way, I'm SO impressed that they have a French website) I saw just how low the price was; I decided to take a chance and up my order to 3 concealers to avoid having to restock IF I liked it a lot! That decision definitely paid off, as I use the Pro conceal in the shade "Fawn", which is a bang on match to my skintone, almost everyday to conceal upcoming pimples, dark circles and dark spots.

I know it looks too dark for me but, trust me, being in France has bronzed my face to the nines!
The consistency is rather thin compared to other concealers I've tried, but the loose texture means that it doesn't dry down instantly, which allows me to really get my beauty blender in there and press it into the skin before time runs out.  The applicator is genius and makes it possible to apply the correct amount of concealer straight onto the skin, no need for brushes! There certainly is a scent to this concealer, but it isn't disagreeable in any way, shape or form. (To be honest, it kind of smells like my grandma)

Overall, this concealer is, for sure, a keeper in my collection; my undereye has never looked smoother!

Sleek True Colour Lipstick - $7.49
For the final product feature of this post, I'm really proud to be presenting you guys something made by a BRITISH brand. Yasss, we're very much in the makeup game with this lovely lippie by none other than Sleek.

Again, due to the price point, I really liked the look of Sleek's 'True Colour' lipstick line and was so eager to try one! In the end, I decided on this gorgeous, vampy plum shade ('Mulberry') in a satin finish, which I knew I would adore from the moment I saw it. (It was love at first sight!)

The consistency is very creamy indeed, which helps it to glide effortlessly across the lips and create a nice and even layer. The best part of this product is that the name isn't at all misleading or false; this lipstick packs an impressive amount of pigment! I find that I really don't need to swipe excessively to obtain an opaque effect. It's amazing!

There are so many different colours and finishes within this collection; you will definitely find at least one lippie that suits your requirements!

I really hope you guys enjoyed hearing about my Pharmacy faves this month. It was honestly so difficult to whittle my extensive list down to three products, but I only wanted to give you guys ones that really stood out from the bunch. And here they are!

What products have you been loving this month? Are any of them $10 or less? Let me know in the comments section below and, as always, please follow this blog for content of the same quality twice a week, EVERY WEEK!

  5. I also want to try the L.A. Girl Pro Concealer. I am a true believe of their HD BB Cream. It is stunning, just enough coverage without feeling like a foundation. I highly recommend it if you like wearing BB Creams.

    1. Hello there Jenny! Really glad you had a good time reading this one! My thoughts are if you can get a product for cheaper that's still good quality then you should go for it! A lot of people are obsessed with owning popular high end makeup, half for show and half because they know that they can trust it 100%. But it's definitely worth trying other ranges when you can, I agree, Elf is really good! The fix and mist really impressed me as well! Always love seeing you here Jenny,

  10. LA Girl Pro Conceal is the only concealer I've ever used and it is so worth the hype.I also use the shade Fawn. The lipstick shade is so beautiful, I recently purchased the Sleek Liquid Lipstick in All Fired Up and it cost me £4.99 . Super cheap and super cute with a long staying power! xx

  16. The Sleek mulberry shade used to be my favourite lippie a long time ago but in retrospect I think Nyx/ Revlon/ Limecrime lippies are better, with excellent pigmentation. I do like the look of the ELF palette though x
